FIELDTRIPS AND FARM TOURS
A trip to Westgate Community Farm consists of a tour of the farm and hands-on activities, tasting and exploration. During the tour your group will explore the many aspects of urban farming including our sustainable growing practices, composting and food access.
Our educational programming can be adapted for all ages and we can link activities to themes relevant to the group.
WORKSHOPS
Come learn about growing food in South Florida through hands on instruction. We host classes throughout the season on everything from planning a garden and irrigation systems to organic pest control and saving seeds. Check out our events calendar to find our upcoming workshops.
VOLUNTEER
Join us at our urban farm to plant, harvest and care for our crops while learning about all aspects of a community- focused regenerative farm! We host volunteers throughout the week as well as during our Saturday Community Workdays during the market season. We welcome individual volunteers and volunteer groups to join us in a variety of tasks on the farm from harvesting to planting to weeding, to beautification projects. We offer hands-on instruction and a Q and A with the farmers as well as opportunities for tasting and reflection.
